John Peters is a co-founder and the Managing Director of Engage Consulting Limited and is an energy industry expert with a career spanning over 30 years. He has performed a wide range of roles since starting as an indentured apprentice with Seeboard; these include operational, strategic and advisory roles for key utilities companies, market operators, agents and regulators.

Prior to founding Engage Consulting, John was a significant contributor in setting up and operating the UK’s metering, settlements and trading arrangements. His knowledge and expertise has positioned him well to advise enterprises and industry bodies worldwide. 

Richard Cullen is a co-founder and Director of Engage with more than 20 years’ experience in the sector. Richard is an industry expert in the development, implementation and operation of the electricity trading arrangements. As part of the large programmes of industry change, he forged the processes and systems that have enabled an orderly market throughout de-regulation.

Richard has provided advice and guidance to many market participants on a broad range of topics – including smart metering, smart grids and revenue and margin assurance. Richard is respected for his ability to deliver solutions and is regarded as one of the foremost experts on the electricity retail, wholesale, governance and regulatory arrangements. 

Alastair Bates is the Head of Consultancy at Engage, and has 15 years’ experience within the Utilities industry and over four years’ experience operating at Executive level. Alastair is an experienced leader and change manager who is able to add significant value through the application of Continuous Improvement techniques, business analysis, project management and Industry knowledge to improve operational effectiveness, performance and efficiency in all areas of the business including Customer Services, Operations Management and IT. 

Pippa Stirling is the Head of Commercial and Corporate Services at Engage. Prior to joining Engage in 2010, Pippa spent 5 years developing business across emerging markets. This included working for a FSTE 100 company, consulting with governments and the private sector across the energy, utilities, infrastructure and finance industries in EMEA and Asia to provide training solutions and also working for an SME to develop a mining, industrial and infrastructure start-up venture in West Africa. Pippa has a BA in Political Science and spent the first 5 years of her career in Parliament, working for the Shadow Attorney General and Shadow Home Secretary.
